A quick and easy way to cleanse and disinfect your artistry brushes. Made from natural orange peel and gentle cleansers, our Makeup Brush Cleanser will get the job done while satisfying your senses.
Fill wt: 4 fl oz / 118 mL • 2 fl oz / 59 mL
Our Sparkle
Spray directly onto brush hair and gently wipe on a paper towel for cleaning between makeup applications. For a deeper clean spray the brush hairs thoroughly and work it into the bristles, rinse with cool water (bristles only) and lay flat to dry as to not ruin the ferrule or handle of the brush.
Pro Tip: The Brush Cleanser is so gentle and smells amazing, unlike most brush cleansers it will not leave your brushes feeling oily or stiff.
Aqua, Ethyl Alcohol, Ethoxydiglycol, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, PEG-150 Distearate, Citric Acid, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Yellow 6 (CI 15985), Methylisothiazolinone, Isopropyl Alcohol, Red 40 (CI 16035)
How do I use Bodyography brush cleanser between uses vs. a deep clean?
For a quick between-use clean, spray Brush Cleanser directly onto the bristles, swirl on a paper towel until the color runs clear, and reshape. For a deep weekly clean, wet the bristles, work in a small amount of gentle soap or cleanser, rinse thoroughly (keeping water away from the ferrule), and lay flat to dry.
How often should I deep-clean my brushes?
Deep-clean face brushes once a week if you use them daily, and eye brushes every one to two weeks. Between deep cleans, use a quick spray of Brush Cleanser after each use. Consistent cleaning extends the life of your brushes, prevents breakouts, and makes every application look cleaner.
Is the cleanser safe for both synthetic and natural bristles?
Yes, Brush Cleanser is safe for both synthetic and natural hair brushes. The formula cleans deeply without stripping or drying the bristles, and dries quickly so you're not down a brush for long. It's gentle enough for daily use and strong enough to lift the toughest cream and liquid pigments.
Does it kill bacteria and disinfect?
Yes, Brush Cleanser is formulated to sanitize brushes between uses — an essential step for professional makeup artists working on multiple clients and just as important for personal use to prevent breakouts. It kills bacteria on contact while lifting product residue.
Will it damage the glue or ferrule on my brushes?
No — used as directed (spraying on bristles rather than soaking the entire brush), Brush Cleanser is safe for the glue and ferrule. Avoid submerging the ferrule (the metal part) in water during deep cleaning, as this is what loosens glue over time and causes shedding down the road.
Is Bodyography cruelty-free and vegan?
Yes — Bodyography is 100% cruelty-free and has been for over 27 years. The majority of our products are also vegan; a few contain beeswax or other animal-derived ingredients (all cruelty-free). Check individual product pages for confirmed vegan status. Cruelty-free is a non-negotiable across the brand. Certified by PETA and LEAPING BUNNY.
Where is Bodyography made, and are ingredients ethically sourced?
Bodyography is a family-owned professional cosmetics brand, headquartered in California and manufactured primarily in the United States, along with partners in S. Korea, France, Spain, Taiwan, China and Italy. We source ingredients responsibly and formulate to our own clean-beauty standards rather than to a universal checklist. What we include is just as intentional as what we leave out.
What's Bodyography's return policy on opened makeup?
We offer returns on unused products within 30 days of purchase. Because of hygiene standards, we generally cannot accept returns on opened cosmetics unless the product is defective. If your product arrived damaged or you have a formulation concern, please reach out to our customer service team — we take every message seriously and want to make it right.
How can I get a free professional shade match?
We offer free shade matching for foundation, concealer, tinted moisturizer, and more. Email us with a clear, natural-light photo of your face and neck (no makeup, no filter), and one of our team members — many of whom are working makeup artists — will match you personally. It's one of the most-used services we offer.
