The Top 4 New Year's Eve Makeup Trends
Let’s face it, we are all looking forward to the start of a new year, 2020 has been challenging and life-changing to say the least! However, it hasn’t been all bad...we’ve found new ways to communicate with friends and family, embraced life within the comfort of our homes, and gotten creative with ways to celebrate life’s moments.
This New Years' Eve proves to be no different, as we gear up to ring in 2021 with ZOOM parties, live streams, and air kisses. Though we may not be attending our usual glamorous parties, it doesn’t mean we are succumbed to sitting on our couch in pajamas. Nothing makes us feel better than getting dolled up, even if it’s just to toast the New Year with besties via FaceTime. Here are some of our favorite makeup looks for this year’s New Year’s Eve, give them a try! We’d love to see what you come up with - make sure to tag us on social media @bodyography and have a happy, healthy, and glamorous New Year’s Eve!
Trend #1: A ‘Not-So-Classic’ Red Lip
Regardless of mask-wearing, red lips are still a big deal for New Year's Eve, and since most of us will be celebrating mask-less in the comfort of our homes, go for it! We love a long-wearing matte liquid lipstick like our Lip Lava in Regal (bright poppy red) or Queen Bee (sultry merlot red) these long-wearing reds won’t smudge from your mask or your NYE kiss and look modern paired with glowing satin skin, arched brows and flutter lashes.
Trend #2: Inner Eye Corner Glitter/Glitter Eyelids
At Bodyography we love a little Glitter! We are after all the pioneers of the famous Glitter Pigment eyeshadow. Glitter doesn’t need to be complicated or messy – our Glitter Pigments are primer infused and glide onto the lids with ease and MAJOR impact. Try one of two looks – an all-over wash, by swiping one shade of Glitter Pigment all over the lid or an inner corner pop using a reflective shade to create a fun shift. This look creates a wow makeup moment with little to no effort, perfect for an at-home celebration. If you’re in the mood to step out of your comfort zone and really embrace the glitter vibes, try a multicolored watercolor effect with 2-3 different shades of Glitter Pigments.
Trend #3: Colored Eye Liner
A colored eye liner is a really fun way to add some bold brightness to your makeup look. Try mixing your favorite bold eyeshadow (try our Vivid Bright Palette) with Ready, Set, Go Makeup Setting Spray to create your own custom line. Go for a simple cat eye, clean upper lash line or a fun graphic shape! We love this trend because it takes us all out of our comfort zone and pairs beautiful with glossy skin and sculpted cheeks.
Trend #4: Brown/Burgundy Monochrome Tones
We love a monochrome moment, especially when it involves the late 90’s/early 2000’s brown and burgundy tones. Amp up this look by layering a matte brown or burgundy shadow (try tones from our Forever Summer Palette) all over the lids and lower lash line with a topcoat of brown or copper glitter eyeshadow (try Caviar and Stellar Glitter Pigment). Pair with a matte liquid lipstick or traditional cream lipstick in a brown or merlot shade and instant va-va-voom glamour (try Timber Lip Pencil, Naked Lip Lava, Jetsetter Lip Lava or Maple Sugar Lipstick).
