5 Steps to a Flawless Canvas

Posted on September 03 2020

At Bodyography we believe that your base is the foundation of your makeup! A flawless canvas sets the perfect stage for playing with makeup, trends, and color.

Follow these 5 Steps to Flawless for a quick and easy way to achieve that complexion of your dreams!

STEP 1: PREP & PRIME
Good skin is the first step to a flawless canvas, be sure to cleanse, tone, and moisturize your skin daily for the best results with and without makeup. BodyographySKIN offers a full anti-aging and antioxidant-infused skincare line.

Prime the skin with your Primer of choice! Bodyography’s best-selling Primers have been a staple in over 1 million makeup bags over the years! Apply your favorite primer all over the skin with your fingers or a paddle foundation brush for the best effect.

Here are all of your Primer options at Bodyography:

Clear: Perfect for all skin types, neutralizing your skin tone, and smoothing out the look of fine lines and pores.

Green: Soothes redness instantly, perfect for correcting acne scarring and rosacea.

Tahitian Glow: Add warmth to your skin with this bronzing primer, perfect for achieving that sun-kissed glow from within.

Neutral: Brightens an uneven skin tone and aids in concealing under-eye circles and age spots.

Purple: Instantly brightens tired or sallow looking skin, also keeps makeup from appearing ashy on dark skin tones.

Hydrating: A lightweight water-based primer designed to prolong the wear of your foundation whilst adding a natural glow to the skin, creating a smooth even base with a subtle silky finish.

STEP 2: FOUNDATION
With 5 foundation formula options, there is a product for every skin tone and type. Click HERE to read more on how to pick the perfect foundation formula for you.

Apply your foundation all over your skin with fingers, a beauty sponge, Buffing Brush or Foundation Brush.

STEP 3: CONCEALER
Once you’ve applied your foundation you can assess if and where you may need or want more coverage. Generally, we like to conceal; under the eyes, around the nose, forehead, chin, and any place there may be a blemish, scar, or redness.

We recommend concealing with an exact match to your skin to conceal blemishes or a shade or two lighter to highlight under the eyes. For targeted under-eye concealing, try our Cover & Correct Under Eye Concealer - this two in one product has a peach-toned under-eye corrector and an incredibly creamy concealer infused with; caffeine, Jojoba, and Vitamins A & E.

For daily concealing try our Skin Perfecter Concealer - this water-based concealer works well with all skin types and wears beautifully throughout the day. Skin Perfecter is a creamy, medium to full coverage concealer that blends seamlessly into the skin. Packed full of vitamins, antioxidants, minerals, and Vitamin E, it instantly conceals imperfections, and revitalizes and treats tired skin and puffy eyes without drying or caking.

STEP 4: POWDER
Now that your base is flawless, it is time to set everything into place with a finishing powder. If extra coverage is what you’re looking for, we recommend Every Finish Powder which not only will set your foundation and concealer, but also add slightly more coverage and mattify the skin.

For a setting powder that blurs imperfections, try Blur, Set Perfect Loose Finishing Powder for a super-advanced formula that not only blurs and sets, but also hydrates your skin with Hyaluronic Acid - this formula is transparent and universal, working for all skin tones.

STEP 5: SET
Set your flawless canvas with Ready, Set, Go Makeup Setting Spray - our water-based setting spray is a weightless setting spray to lock makeup in place, control oil, and shine, and refresh makeup throughout the day. Great for all skin types and in all climates. Can be applied before and after makeup application to prep and set.

Now that your 5 Steps to Flawless are complete you can build upon your look with color and texture using eyeshadow, blush, highlighter, lipstick, and more! Happy creating!
